Canadian Polish
Available to All Members: Individuals, Students, and Businesses.
Why did we create a Benefit plan for members?
A benefits plan supports people’s health and wellbeing—empowering them to feel their best at home and at
work, and when that plan is provided by an employer, it fosters a positive working relationship and
helps businesses build amazing teams.
But the right plan can be hard to find, and can be cost-prohibitive for smaller businesses or
self-employed individuals. Many companies have to reduce their benefits due to high rate increases in
the marketplace having a negative effect on employee engagement and job satisfaction. That’s
not right!!
That’s why the Canadian Polish Business Association, with the help of The Benefits Edge and EIO
Solutions, has created the CPBA Benefits Plan, available to all our members. This new plan leverages the
size of the association to guarantee comprehensive health & wellness support at lower rates than a small
business can find on their own—ensuring our members’ employees are happy, healthy, and productive and
our businesses thrive!
What is great about this benefits plan?
- Group Pricing for All Members: with the size of our association, we’re able to offer discounted prices to everyone—even small businesses and self-employed members—and can ensure those prices remain stable. Whether you are a small company or have several hundred employees spread across different provinces, the CPBA Benefits Plan will be tailored to your needs while protected under the pooled umbrella of our association. Our sustainable pricing will be a relief to members who have experienced price fluctuations in the benefits marketplace.
- Analysis and Competitive Quoting on Existing Plans: if you already have a benefits plan your employees appreciate, EIO’s experts can prepare a custom quote while investigating potential discounts. Like any CPBA member, your group will then be added to the association pool to provide stability going forward.
- Flexible Plan Options: unlike other association plans (like Chamber plans), you can customize all aspects of your coverage to suit your needs on your budget. The EIO team will give you the aggregate usage information you need on an ongoing basis so that you can manage your plan and make informed choices.
- Health & Wellness Inclusions: a flexible and proactive approach to
health and wellness is what will truly help employees feel their best. To best support people, all
our plans come with Maple Virtual Care, and can be supplemented with the following add ons:
- Lifestyle+ Spending Accounts for extended coverage of existing benefits, plus gym memberships, vitamins, fitness supplies, and more
- Workplace Options Employee Wellness Support including emotional, physical, and practical resources for staying happy, healthy, and engaged both at work and at home
- Medical Second Opinion to provide answers to critical questions, empowering you to make the best healthcare decisions.
- GAP Coverage for Inpats: if you’re hiring new employees from Europe, you can set them up with temporary Provincial Plan Replacement insurance to cover them until they’re eligible for the provincial plan.
- Guidance From a Trusted Advisor: CPBA member and benefits expert, Diana Tuszynski, can help you understand your options and help you make the best choices for your company and your employees
- Easy Set-Up and Claims Experience: EIO provides a seamless onboarding process where plan members can register and start submitting claims through their online portal within minutes
How it works:
- Members can book a discovery call with Diana Tuszynski to review their needs and determine if a CPBA Benefits Plan is the right fit for them (contact info)
- Diana will discuss options and work with members to prepare the documentation required to obtain a quote
- EIO will create a benefits proposal comparing the cost and coverage of the selected benefits options and a comparison to the current plan if applicable
- Diana will review the proposal with you, discuss possible modifications, and help you decide on your final benefit plan design. Next Steps will be discussed for onboarding and rollout.
- EIO will work with members to complete the necessary documentation to implement the plan, train your plan administrator, host interactive information-sessions to ensure your employees are comfortable with the online tools to make claims.
- A meeting will be scheduled for a 6 month review of your plan usage and to ensure you have chosen the right coverage for your employees. Plan satisfaction and user experience is key, so modifications to the plan design can be made mid- year. We want your plan to get 5 stars from your employees!
*Pricing for Health and Dental options for Individuals or Small groups will be based on rates negotiated in advance by the Canadian Polish Business Association. If Members elect to include Group Life Insurance, AD&D, Dependent Life, Group Critical Illness, Short-Term Disability, or Long-Term Disability, rates will be based on your employees demographics. Pricing for employers who currently have a plan will require rates and claims history.

FAQ:
Is the benefits plan available to individual and student members?
Yes! Whether you’re a solo-preneur, consultant, or a student, you can join the CPBA Benefits Plan. And if you own a business but joined the CPBA as an individual member, you can still access the CPBA Benefits Plan for your company.
Will the rates increase at renewal?
Small increases can be expected, following trends in claims and increasing costs of goods and services, however you will be protected from large increases that would otherwise be tied to high claims from your individual group.
Can I join the plan if I’m self-employed?
Yes! The CPBA Benefits Plan is available to all members, regardless of the size of their business.
Can I keep my benefits if I’m retired?
Yes! The CPBA Benefits Plan is available to retirees, however rates may increase due to differences in Travel benefits costs.
Will I be able to bill directly to the plan?
Yes! All plan members will be given pay-direct benefits cards for pharmacies and health & dental providers, accepted by most providers nationwide.
Will I qualify if all my employees are family members?
Yes! CPBA Benefits Plans are available to family-owned and -operated businesses.
Will foreign workers be eligible?
Yes! Foreign workers can receive coverage on the CPBA Benefits Plan. Plus, if they need temporary provincial health coverage (for hospital visits and other universal healthcare services) we can add a separate insurance product for the months they require.
Can I add part-time staff to the plan?
Yes! You can also create separate classes for part-time and full-time employees.
Can I offer a spending account without a traditional benefits plan?
Yes! But: you must have at least one arms-length (non-related) employee to be eligible. Alternatives are available for self-employed individuals and can be discussed with Diana.
How easy is it to submit claims?
Very easy! Members will have access to an online platform—optimized for desktop and mobile devices. They simply need to upload a picture of their receipt, answer a few quick questions, and submit!
How long does it take for claims to be processed and reimbursed?
Most claims are reimbursed within two business days.
How does it work if I’m covered under my spouse’s plan?

How long will it take to get set up?
From the date of signing, it takes roughly six weeks to onboard a new group.
If I’m buying a company, can I combine plans?
Yes, you can combine plans by adding the new employees to your existing plan design, separating them by class or billing division if required. Diana and EIO can work with you to complete the process.
